Larry Cheng receives mid-career investigator award for achievements in biomaterials research

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Huanyu “Larry” Cheng, the James L. Henderson, Jr. Memorial Associate Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics, received a Mid-Career Investigator Award from the Chinese Association for Biomaterials (CAB).
The award is given to members who hold the rank of associate professor while making significant contributions to the field of biomaterials research. Cheng will be acknowledged at the Society for Biomaterials 2025 Annual Meeting and Exposition on April 4-12 in Chicago.
Cheng — who holds affiliations in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, architectural engineering, and industrial and manufacturing engineering — has earned numerous other awards for his work in biomaterials, nanoscience and materials engineering, including recognition as a Rising Star in Advanced Materials Research, a feature on the Web of Science’s 2024 Highly Cited Researchers List and the title of 2023 Nanoscale Emerging Investigator.
