UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Samantha Link was named the 2022 spring student marshal for mechanical engineering. Link will receive her bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.
A 2018 graduate of Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, Link earned several awards and scholarships while at Penn State, including the President Walker Award, President Sparks Award, Evan Pugh Scholar Junior Award, Evan Pugh Scholar Senior Award, Abby A. Sutherland Scholarship, Presidential CES Scholarship, Taub Family Scholarship, Undergraduate Scholarship for Talented Students and Joseph B. Wharton Scholarship. She was also a Schreyer Honors Scholar and completed an honors thesis titled “Evaluating the Effect of Project Frame on Communicative Patterns in Capstone Design Pitches.”
Link was a member of the Penn State Abington Women’s Volleyball Team from 2018-20, the Abington Lion Ambassadors from 2018-20 where she served as treasurer from 2019-20, the Penn State Abington Engineering Club from 2019-20 and the Penn State Abington Student Initiated Fee Board from 2019-20. Link also participated in the Monarch THON organization from 2020-22 and the Mechanical Engineering Scholar Program from 2020-22.
Following graduation, Link will work as an engineer for Penn Engineering’s rotation development program.
