2022 spring student marshal: Nikita Arbuzov

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Nikita Arbuzov has been named the spring 2022 student marshal for computer engineering.
Arbuzov will receive his bachelor of science in computer engineering with a certificate in business fundamentals from the Smeal College of Business. A 2018 graduate of Samara Lyceum of Information Technologies in Samara, Russia, Arbuzov earned several awards and scholarships while at Penn State, including the Penn State President Walker Award, the Penn State President Sparks Award and the Research Experience for Undergraduates Equity Scholarship.
Arbuzov served as treasurer of the Russian Student Association from 2020-21 and led the system engineering department of Penn State’s Advanced Vehicle Team.
While participating in undergraduate research at Penn State, Arbuzov developed a model predictive control for a heavy-duty truck as part of a Volvo “NEXTCAR” project and modeled a fluctuating flame under turbulence in a flame modeling research project. He also competed in the AutoDrive Challenge II hosted by SAE International.
As a software engineering intern for Communications Test Design Inc., Arbuzov created software for locating screws in an opened phone based on photographs.
After graduation, Arbuzov will attend graduate school to pursue an advanced degree in computer science.
