Chao-Yang Wang named 2026 fellow of the Electrochemical Society

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Chao-Yang Wang, the Diefenderfer Chair and professor of mechanical and chemical engineering, has been elected a 2026 fellow of the Electrochemical Society (ECS), one of the highest honors awarded by the international organization.
The ECS fellow designation recognizes individual contributions and leadership in electrochemistry and solid-state science and technology, as well as active participation in the society. Each year, ECS inducts a maximum of 15 distinguished members into its class of fellows. Wang is internationally known for his research in electrochemical energy systems, including batteries, fuel cells and sustainable energy technologies.
As a member of the 2026 ECS fellow class, Wang will be formally recognized during the society’s 250th ECS Meeting, which will be held this fall in Calgary, Canada.
