Engineering student receives Schreyer Honors College award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Amanda Sargen, a fourth-year Schreyer Honors College Scholar majoring in mechanical engineering, is one of four Scholars who has received a student award for the 2025-26 school year. These Scholars are leaders who are serving their communities and making an impact.
Sargen received the Scholar Involvement Award, which honors students who demonstrate excellence in the college’s overall mission of building global perspectives, creating opportunities for civic leadership and engagement and demonstrating academic excellence with integrity.
Sargen serves as a student leader for the New Scholar Experience in Schreyer. She mentors other peer educators and co-leads the Schreyer Honors Orientation communications team. Sargen also participated in the Schreyer Maymester study abroad program to Cambodia. She will be honored at the senior awards lunch in May.
