Ram Narayanan honored for electromagnetic systems work

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Ram Narayanan, distinguished professor of electrical engineering, has been named a recipient of the 2025 Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers International Radar Symposium-India Main Award, known as the IETE-IRSI (83) Main Award. 2025 IETE-IRSI (83) Main AwarThe award, given by IETE, recognizes substantial contributions to the field of electromagnetic wave propagation and scattering, as well as broader advancements in radar science and related technologies.
The IETE-IRSI (83) Awards were established through a fund created from the proceeds of the first International Radar Symposium of India, held in 1983. The awards honor individuals for outstanding contributions across areas such as radar systems, microwave technologies, remote sensing, navigation and electronic warfare techniques.
Narayanan’s recognition reflects more than two decades of active involvement with IETE and his sustained impact on research and innovation in the field. The award also acknowledges his dedication to advancing the understanding and application of electromagnetic systems.
