Keefe B. Manning named editor-in-chief of Cardiovascular Engineering and Technology Journal

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Keefe B. Manning, professor of Biomedical Engineering, has been named editor-in-chief of the Cardiovascular Engineering and Technology Journal (CVET).
CVET, a society journal of the Biomedical Engineering Society, publishes “the spectrum of basic to translational research in all aspects of cardiovascular physiology and medical treatment,” according to its website.
As editor-in-chief, Manning will serve a five-year term with the possibility of additional three-year terms, working alongside the deputy editor-in-chief and a team of 50 associate editors to continue the journal’s growth and maintain its reputation.
Manning and his research team study flow associated with cardiovascular devices and how clotting occurs with these devices. They are developing computational models to predict clot formation and embolization. His research has been sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, American Heart Association, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Department of Defense, Grace Woodward Foundation and industry. He holds fellow status in the American Heart Association, American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Biomedical Engineering Society
