Frank Koe receives honorable mention from interior design society

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Frank Koe, a teaching professor in Penn State’s School of Engineering Design and Innovation, has received an honorable mention for the 2026 Joel Polsky Prize from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Foundation.
Supported by the Polsky Fund, the Joel Polsky Prize recognizes outstanding academic contributions communicated through print or digital media that address the needs of the public, designers and students.
This marks Koe’s second Joel Polsky Prize recognition. He previously received the award for the first edition of his book, Fabric for the Designed Interior, which supports the study and practice of interior design through its exploration of textiles and their role in the designed environment.
Koe’s 2026 recognition highlights his continued contributions to interior design education and scholarship and his work communicating academic research and knowledge to others in the field and the broader public.
