Swaroop Ghosh delivers keynote on quantum computing cybersecurity at international conference

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Swaroop Ghosh, Penn State professor of electrical engineering and computer science, delivered a keynote address on the cybersecurity of quantum computing at the 2026 Association for Computing Machinery Great Lakes Symposium on VeryLargeScale Integration. 

Ghosh's keynote focused on the emerging cybersecurity challenges associated with quantum computing and the importance of developing secure quantum technologies as the field continues to advance. 

The presentation aligned with growing national interest in quantum technology, including a recent executive order highlighting U.S. leadership in quantum information science and emphasizing the importance of secure quantum computing systems. 

According to Ghosh, addressing cybersecurity concerns alongside continued advances in quantum computing will be critical to ensuring the technology can be deployed safely and securely across government, industry and research applications. 

The ACM Great Lakes Symposium on VLSI is an international conference that brings together researchers from academia and industry to present advances in VLSI, computer architecture, hardware security and emerging computing technologies.
