Aida Ebrahimi receives international early career award for sensor research

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Aida Ebrahimi, the Thomas and Sheila Roell Early Career Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Electrochemical Society (ECS) Sensor Division Early Career Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to sensor research early in her career.
Ebrahimi's research focuses on developing advanced sensing technologies and intelligent electronic systems, with applications spanning healthcare, environmental monitoring and next-generation wearable and implantable devices.
The ECS Sensor Division Early Career Award recognizes exceptional early-career researchers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of sensor science and technology through innovative research and leadership in the field.
Ebrahimi will be formally recognized during the 250th Electrochemical Society Meeting, held in Calgary, Canada, in October 2026. As part of the honor, she will deliver the ECS Sensor Division Early Career Award lecture.
