Engineering sees 14% increase in GivingTuesday funds raised from 2024

Jan 23, 2026

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State College of Engineering raised $76,716 from 305 donors on GivingTuesday, which started the evening of Dec. 1 through the end of Dec. 2, 2025. The funds will support student success by providing scholarships, study abroad opportunities, professional development and other student-centered programs. The amount raised is a 14% increase for the College of Engineering over GivingTuesday 2024.

“We are honored by the continued generosity of our engineering community,” said Tonya L. Peeples, Harold and Inge Marcus Dean of Engineering. “The variety of programs supported will have a direct impact on student success — not just in the classroom or lab, but in their wider, everyday lives.”

The engineering fund that raised the most was the Penn State Mechanical Engineering Academic Excellence Fund, which raised $25,339 from 75 individual donors. The fund subsidizes the cost of the Mechanical Engineering Entrance to Major (ETM) Hardware kits for students, which includes many of the necessary tools for ME students to perform their assigned work and begin new projects. The Engineering Summer Bridge Program was the second-highest funded campaign, raising $22,500 from 42 unique donors. You can learn about each engineering campaign by clicking the links below.

Gifts made on GivingTuesday advance the University’s historic land-grant mission to serve and lead. Through philanthropy, alumni and friends are helping students to join the Penn State family and prepare for lifelong success; driving research, outreach and economic development that grow our shared strength and readiness for the future; and increasing the University’s impact for families, patients and communities across the commonwealth and around the world.
