Wangda Zuo honored with ASME 2024 Outstanding Associate Editor of the Year Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Wangda Zuo, professor of architectural engineering and of mechanical engineering in the Penn State College of Engineering, has been selected to receive the 2024 Outstanding Associate Editor of the Year Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
This award recognizes associate editors who have gone above and beyond to ensure quality research contributions are published, according to ASME. Zuo was honored for his exceptional service as an associate editor from 2022-25 for the Journal of Solar Energy Engineering, which is published by ASME. His dedication to the peer-review process and commitment to maintaining the journal's high standards have been instrumental in advancing the field of solar energy engineering, according to ASME.
The ASME Journal Program has upheld a tradition of rigorous, peer-reviewed scholarship since its inception in 1880. ASME acknowledged Zuo's outstanding contributions, noting his expertise and dedication to excellence.
The latest accolade from ASME adds to Zuo's distinguished career, which includes being named a fellow of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) in 2025 and receiving the Exceptional Service Award from ASHRAE in 2024. He is also the recipient of the International Building Performance Simulation Association’s Outstanding Researcher Award and the best poster award at SimBuild 2024.
