Sky Semone receives honorable mention in 2025 IEEE AP-S Student Paper Competition

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Sky Semone, a doctoral student in electrical engineering advised by Christos Argyropoulos, associate professor of electrical engineering, has received an honorable mention in the 2025 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Student Paper Competition.
Semone’s paper, titled “Chiral single photon emission with bound states in the continuum plasmonic metasurfaces,” was selected from a field of 131 submissions.
As part of the honorable mention recognition, Semone will receive a travel stipend and a full conference registration to support attendance at the 2025 IEEE AP-S/URSI Symposium, to be held July 13-18 in Ottawa, Canada. Semone will present the research during the conference in a session designated for accepted papers.
