WHAT: Penn State engineering science and mechanics research was featured in an article recently published to Yahoo Finance. Akhlesh Lakhtakia, Evan Pugh University Professor and Charles G. Binder Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics, discusses the development of a porous plastic sheet that can be used as a wall and roof liner to passively reduce indoor room temperature. The sheets, which have a useful life of several years, can reduce temperatures by up to 14 degrees Fahrenheit in an enclosed environment.
