Chemical engineering postdoctoral scholar named 2025 Future Faculty Awardee
Sept 2, 2025
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Roya Koshani, a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Penn State, was selected as a 2025 Future Faculty Awardee by the Polymer Science, Materials and Engineering Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS). The award recognizes promising early-career researchers who demonstrate outstanding potential in polymer science and engineering.
Koshani received the official award certificate in August at the ACS Fall Meeting, held in Washington, D.C., where the division honored emerging leaders shaping the future of polymeric materials.
The Future Faculty Award highlights Koshani’s innovative contributions to polymer chemistry and materials engineering, focusing on advancing sustainable polymer design and functional material applications. Through her postdoctoral research as part of Amir Sheikhi’s Bio-Soft Materials Lab, Koshani aims to develop next-generation polymer systems with enhanced performance for energy and environmental technologies.
