Dan Hayes appointed standing member of NIH musculoskeletal study section

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Dan Hayes, head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Dorothy Foehr Huck and J. Lloyd Chair in Nanotherapeutics and Regenerative Medicine, has been appointed a standing member of the Musculoskeletal Tissue Engineering (MTE) Study Section within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Center for Scientific Review. 

Hayes’ appointment reflects a national recognition of his expertise in musculoskeletal biology, regenerative medicine and biomaterials. As a standing member for a four-year term, Hayes will contribute to the NIH peer review process by evaluating grant applications focused on innovative approaches to musculoskeletal tissue engineering and repair. 

The MTE Study Section plays a key role in supporting advancements in orthopedics, biomaterials design and translational tissue regeneration. Members are selected for their leadership in the field and their ability to critically assess high-impact, multidisciplinary research proposals.
