Professor Wangda Zuo receives two recognitions from building-simulation association

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Wangda Zuo, professor of architectural engineering and of mechanical engineering, received the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA)-USA Outstanding Researcher Award.

The award recognizes individuals “who have provided outstanding leadership in the promotion of building simulation through research in the course of their careers,” according to the IBPSA-USA website. Zuo, who is also the associate director for research of the Global Building Network, was recognized at the SimBuild 2024 conference in May in Denver, where he also received the best poster award for one of his papers. The best poster award was presented to Zuo and his team for “advancing the building performance simulation field in reinforcement learning to enhance optimal operation of resilient community energy systems,” according to the award.
