UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.— Farshad Rajabipour, interim department head and John A. and Harriette K. Shaw Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, will be co-editor in chief for the Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering (JMCE), effective Oct. 1. JMCE, which is published by the American Society of Civil Engineers, “covers the development, processing, evaluation, applications and performance of construction materials in civil engineering,” according to its website

Rajabipour will be responsible for paper submissions related to cement and concrete materials, while the journal’s other incoming co-editor in chief, Louay Mohammad of Louisiana State University, will be responsible for papers on geomaterials as well as bituminous and composite materials.

“Filling [our predecessor]’s shoes will undoubtedly be a challenge, but we are committed and dedicated to the continued excellence of the journal in collaboration with our outstanding associate editors and exceptional editorial staff,” Rajabipour and Mohammad said in a joint message.
