Industrial engineering graduate student receives best track paper award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Anshul Balamwar, a doctoral student in industrial engineering in the Penn State College of Engineering, received a best track paper award in the Engineering Economy Division at the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers’ annual conference.
The paper, “Generative AI for Predicting Interest Rates by Fusing LLM and Economic Factors,” was co-authored by Balamwar’s adviser, Vittaldas Prabhu, professor of industrial and manufacturing engineering and Charles and Enid Schneider Faculty Chair in Service Enterprise Engineering.
