What: Jack Langelaan, professor and director of graduate programs in the Penn State College of Engineering Department of Aerospace Engineering, was quoted in an article on CNN’s website that discussed a cargo plane that completed a 50-mile flight with no one on board. The cargo plane, Cessna Caravan, was operated by a California-based company, Reliable Robotics. As a subject expert, Langelaan commented on the difficulties inherent in robotic aircraft and the milestone achieved by Reliable Robotics, with which he is not affiliated, with this feat.
