Indian Institute of Technology Madras names Soundar Kumara distinguished alumnus

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Soundar Kumara, the Allen E. Pearce and Allen M. Pearce Professor of Industrial Engineering, was named one of 14 recipients of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras’s (IIT Madras) 2024 Distinguished Alumnus Award.
The award is the highest honor bestowed by IIT Madras on its alumni and recognizes their achievements in their respective fields of expertise, according to the school’s website. Kumara is a 1977 graduate of IIT Madras. He will receive the award in the fall at the 65th IIT Madras Institute Day.
