Penn State researchers win Best Paper Award for work on drug design

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A team of Penn State researchers won the Best Paper Award at the Association for Computing Machinery Great Lakes Symposium on Very Large-Scale Integration 2024, held June 12-14 in Clearwater, Florida.  

The team was led by Swaroop Ghosh, professor of electrical engineering and of computer science and engineering, and included Debarshi Kundu, doctoral student in computer science, Archisman Ghosh, doctoral student in computer science, Srinivasan Ekambaram, postdoctoral scholar of pharmacology at Penn State College of Medicine, Jian Wang assistant professor of pharmacology at Penn State College of Medicine, and Nikolay Dokholyan, professor of pharmacology at Penn State College of Medicine. Their paper on drug design, “Application of Quantum Tensor Networks for Protein Classification,” was selected as the winner from a pool of 195 submissions.
