Eight Penn State engineering students awarded Diefenderfer Graduate Fellowships

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Eight Penn State College of Engineering graduate students have received the Diefenderfer Graduate Fellowship in Entrepreneurship for the 2024-25 academic year.
Established by the late Willam E. Diefenderfer, a Penn State mechanical engineering alumnus, and his late wife, Francesca, the Diefenderfer Graduate Fellowship encourages and provides financial support to innovative and entrepreneurial graduate engineering students. Recipients pursue studies related to starting, financing, growing, and administering companies using engineering technologies.
This year’s recipients are:
- Joshua Benjestorf, electrical engineering
- Ankan Dutta, engineering science and mechanics
- Harikrishnan Ravichandran, engineering science and mechanics
- Kevin Mekulu, industrial engineering
- Abigail Circelli, chemical engineering
- Ava Knaf, mechanical engineering
- Domenic Contrino, environmental engineering
- Neda Ghaeili, architectural engineering
