UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. Art developed for a Penn State research project was chosen as the inside back cover for an upcoming issue of Advanced Functional Materials.

Huanyu “Larry” Cheng, James L. Henderson, Jr. Memorial Associate Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics, is a co-corresponding author on the selected research. This feature comes after Cheng’s recent acknowledgement on the Web of Science Group’s 2024 Highly Cited Researchers List.

The paper, Multi-Functional Ti3C2Tx-Silver@Silk Nanofiber Composites with Multi-Dimensional Heterogeneous Structure for Versatile Wearable Electronics examines the usage of innovative silk nanofiber materials in the development of wearable electronics. These low-cost, environmentally friendly materials are an ideal option for biometric technologies, according to the researchers. The research analyzed the synthesis and use of these nanofiber materials.
