What: A WTAJ article and video featured the expansion of the Penn State Steady Research Turbine Laboratory (START Lab) and quoted Reid Berdanier, associate professor of mechanical engineering and director of the START Lab. The expansion will include a 13,000-square-foot addition and renovation at the Lidia Manson Building at CATO Park. The new facility, which will be named START+ as an indicator of the expanded capabilities for the lab, will enable research in the areas of new turbine cycles and of turbine size effects on turbine efficiency. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Nov. 8.
