Penn State American Nuclear Society student chapter honored with society award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State student chapter of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) was awarded first place for the 2024 Samuel Glasstone Award by the ANS Education, Training and Workforce Development Division. The Penn State section will share the honor with the ANS Missouri University of Science and Technology student section.
The Samuel Glasstone Award is given each year to “outstanding student sections for accomplishing the most notable achievements in public service and the advancements of nuclear engineering,” according to the award notification letter. Among other activities and contributions to nuclear engineering education, the Penn State ANS student chapter hosted the ANS student conference in April 2024.
