UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State College of Engineering fundraised $38,686 from 334 gifts on GivingTuesday, which took place on Nov. 28, 2023. The funds support engineering student success by providing scholarships and resources for educational experiences such as study abroad, student competitions and professional development opportunities. The college’s efforts contributed to the record-breaking total of the University’s ninth annual GivingTuesday

“We are grateful for the continued support of our engineering community,” said Tonya L. Peeples, Harold and Inge Marcus Dean of Engineering. “It’s exciting to see our community grow, with so many people championing the engineering campaigns this year. Every gift received supports our students and builds a more equitable and inclusive academic community.”

In total, 334 alumni and friends contributed gifts to the nine campaigns supported by the College of Engineering, generating a 34% increase in donors from last year's efforts. The Penn State Engineering Alumni Society Endowed Scholarship campaign led the donor race within the college, with 76 donors raising $5,920. The Penn State Engineers in Action campaign, a student-led effort, received the second highest number of donors to a College of Engineering campaign with 71 donors raising $3,365. The Penn State Engineers Without Borders campaign, also a student-led effort, exceeded both its dollar and donor goals with 46 donors raising $4,506.
