Engineering Learning Factory to host spring showcase in person and virtually

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. The Penn State Learning Factory will host its end-of-semester showcase for engineering students to present their capstone design projects with both in-person and virtual formats.   

The in-person showcase will take place from 1:00-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Bryce Jordan Center. The virtual showcase will take place Tuesday, Dec. 5 through Friday, Dec. 15. Both versions of the event are free and open to the public.  

The showcase provides senior engineering students across the College of Engineering with an opportunity to share their capstone projects, which are sponsored by a variety of local and national firms as well as government agencies. The work of more than 700 first-year students will also be showcased. This semester, over 175 teams contributed to a project sponsored by Goodwill Keystone Area, designing solutions to several problems posed by the client.

Projects, posters and videos will be judged for awards, including a People’s Choice Award, voted on by attendees of both the in-person and virtual versions of the showcase. Winners will be announced at the end of the showcase and listed online here.

CHANGES TO PARKING 

Visitorsattending the showcase must purchase a permit via Park Mobile using these instructions and must park in Jordan East. ADA spaces are available in Orange L East with a properly displayed state issued ADA Plate or Placard and with a permit purchased through Park Mobile. Students, faculty and staff with on-campus permits may park in Jordan East, Stadium West and Porter North. More information can be found here.
