November 15, 2023

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. The Penn State College of Engineering invites alumni and friends to support engineering student success through a GivingTuesday gift on Nov. 28 as Penn State celebrates its ninth GivingTuesday.

The College of Engineering supports several GivingTuesday campaigns, all of which support students by providing them with the tools they need to excel academically and enhance their overall experience. Last year, the college raised $46,291 from 254 gifts.

This year’s College of Engineering GivingTuesday giving opportunities are:

  • College of Engineering
  • Department of Architectural Engineering
  • Engineers in Action
  • Engineering Leadership Development Program
  • Global Engineering Engagement
  • Engineers Without Borders
  • Department of Mechanical Engineering
  • Penn State Engineering Alumni Society Endowed Scholarship
  • Engineering Summer Bridge Program

“Philanthropy is foundational to our work to create a more equitable and inclusive academic community,” said Tonya L. Peeples, Interim Harold and Inge Marcus Dean of Engineering. “Gifts to the college support student recruitment activities, unique educational experiences such as study abroad and student competitions, scholarships and professional development opportunities.”

Although GivingTuesday takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 28, Penn State’s celebration is kicking off early on Monday, Nov. 27, at 18:55 (6:55 p.m. EST) — a nod to the year in which the University was founded. Those interested in contributing to any of the College of Engineering fundraising initiatives can learn more here.

Gifts made on GivingTuesday advance the University’s historic land-grant mission to serve and lead. Through philanthropy, alumni and friends are helping students to join the Penn State family and prepare for lifelong success; driving research, outreach and economic development that grow our shared strength and readiness for the future; and increasing the University’s impact for families, patients and communities across the commonwealth and around the world.
