Engineering student wins award at Society of Medical Decision Making conference

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. —  Zixuan Feng, doctoral student of industrial and manufacturing engineering at Penn State, won a presentation award at the 45th annual Society of Medical Decision Making meeting held Oct. 22-25 in Philadelphia. 

Feng earned the 2023 Stephen Pauker Award for Outstanding Presentation in Quantitative Methods and Theoretical Developments. The award is one of five of the Lee B. Lusted Student Prizes awarded for outstanding student posters, according to the society. Feng’s research topic was titled "A Bayesian Hierarchical Model for Estimating County-level Opioid Use Disorder Prevalence Using Publicly Available Data.”
