Engineering students get creative with cardboard at entrepreneurship event

2/14/2022

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — In November 2021, the Penn State School of Engineering Design, Technology, and Professional Programs Engineering Entrepreneurship (E-SHIP) program hosted the first annual Cardboard Challenge. Held at Invent Penn State’s Innovation Hub, the event challenged teams of students from the Multicultural Engineering Program, Women in Engineering Program — both housed within the Center for Engineering Outreach and Inclusion — and the A. James Clark Scholars to build a vending machine prototype out of cardboard boxes. The E-SHIP program aims to teach students how to apply entrepreneurship concepts to engineering  to create new and innovative products, services and businesses.
