Security of Advanced Reactors Workshop offered in person and virtually, Nov. 2-4

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) Nuclear Security and Physical Protection Technical Division and the INMM Chapter at Penn State will co-host the Security of Advanced Reactors Workshop, both in person at University Park and virtually, Nov. 2-4.

The workshop is geared toward Penn State graduate students and faculty working in nuclear energy and related fields, as well as security professionals, policymakers, technology developers, reactor vendors and others from outside the Penn State community. While there is a fee, it will be waived for Penn State-affiliated participants

The workshop aims to facilitate active participation from all attendees, with a focus on security-related issues with advanced reactors. In-person attendees will have the opportunity to tour the Penn State Breazeale Reactor.

There will also be a free event that is open to the public, as well as virtually attendees, on the evening of Nov. 3 at Hintz Alumni Center that includes a panel of experts to engage in a discussion about nuclear science public engagement and communication.
