Nearly 300 first-year engineering students attend summer orientation programs

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — In August, nearly 300 first-year engineering students participated in the Multicultural Engineering Program Orientation and the Women in Engineering Program Orientation, hosted by the Penn State Center for Engineering Outreach and Inclusion (CEOI). During these four-day orientation programs, participants were introduced to all that the College of Engineering, CEOI and Penn State have to offer. Students had the opportunity to connect with their peers, mentors and engineering faculty and staff; explore the benefits of the Multicultural Engineering Program and the Women in Engineering Program; network with alumni and industry partners; and participate in an engineering team design project and competition.
