UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — George Lesieutre, associate dean for research and graduate programs and professor of aerospace engineering, and Daning Huang, assistant professor of aerospace engineering, are two of three authors of a new textbook on structural dynamics. Cambridge University Press, a global publisher of academic journals, research monographs, reference works and textbooks, will publish the graduate-level book, Structural Dynamics: Theory and Applications to Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, Volume 50, in February 2023.
Lesieutre and Huang, along with co-author Peretz P. Friedmann from the University of Michigan, have more than 80 years combined of teaching and research experience in areas related to structural dynamics. Their textbook focuses on the theory of natural modes of vibration, the finite element method and the dynamic response of structures along with enhanced coverage of damping, rotating systems and parametric excitation.
