What: Sven Bilén, professor of engineering design, electrical engineering and aerospace engineering who also directs the doctor of engineering in engineering program, and Ali Memari, Bernard and Henrietta Hankin Chair in Residential Building Construction, director of PHRC and professor of architectural engineering and civil and environmental engineering, were recently featured in a Daily Collegian article that discussed the Penn State HUB-Robeson Center and the center’s most recent exhibition, “Over & Over Again,” which represents a collaboration between scientists and artists. Within the exhibition, Bilén and Memari’s work titled “From Earth to Mars and Back” is showcased. This interdisciplinary research collaboration, which was originally used in the 2019 NASA 3D-Printed Mars Habitat Challenge, focuses on building sustainable and effective housing using 3D printing.
