UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Two Penn State industrial engineering fourth-year undergraduate students received scholarships from Alpha Pi Mu, the industrial engineering national honor society. Ava Drum received the S. Balachandran Service Scholarship, and Braden Heisler received the Wolter J. Fabrycky Systems Scholarship. Drum, who is the vice president of the Penn State chapter of Alpha Pi Mu, was recognized for her service to the society. Heisler, who is the president of the Penn State chapter of Alpha Pi Mu, was recognized for his achievements and potential in the profession of systems engineering.
“These national scholarships are highly competitive,” said Catherine Harmonosky, associate professor and associate head of industrial and manufacturing engineering and faculty adviser of the Penn State chapter of Alpha Pi Mu. “Since I have been the faculty adviser for over 20 years, we have never had two awardees in one year.”
