UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — From State College to Silicon Valley, Matt Brezina (class of 2003) is one of Penn State’s most successful tech entrepreneurs, founding multimillion-dollar companies that include Sincerely and Xobni.

From 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, during Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC, Brezina will detail his entrepreneurial journey’s twists and turns and how he secured funding for his various ventures during the “Flipping the Script – Funding Alternatives for your Startup” virtual keynote speaker event, which is open to all Penn State students. Registration is not required, and the session will occur via Zoom.

Brezina, an electrical engineering and Schreyer Honors College graduate, took full advantage of his Penn State experience. During his college years, he laid the groundwork of turning his childhood dream of starting a company into a reality. He has since invested in more than 80 startups, including Dropbox, Ring, Cruise, Snapdocs, Tonal and JUMP.

This keynote speaker event will be moderated by Leonardo Girlando, a Schreyer Honors College student pursuing bachelor's degrees in finance and in Chinese, and Jeanette Miller, director of the Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIENT) Major and associate director of the Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Smeal College of Business.
