Climate dynamics seminar examines data, disasters and urban supply chains

3/8/2021

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Keeping grocery store shelves stocked in cities after heat waves cause crop and livestock losses is a challenge. Alfonso Mejia, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at Penn State, will discuss using data-driven frameworks to keep cities supplied after droughts and heat waves affect agricultural production during a seminar at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. The talk will be broadcast via Zoom.

Mejia’s talk is part of the Earth System Science Center’s spring 2021 Climate Dynamics seminar series. The series focuses on the cutting-edge climate research being conducted in the Earth and Environmental Systems Institute and the Climate Science dual-title graduate program in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at Penn State.
